Find your Blend III - Getting cosy with Lavender, Vetivert and Cedarwood
Lavender, this common and easy to find plant in the UK, has been used throughout the centuries thanks to its amazing properties. From aiding insomnia to repelling plague, it is said to have been used by Cleopatra to seduce her lovers. In mythology and tales, lavender has its presence as a love plant, but I can’t help but relate it to a good night sleep. This easily recognised scent can help you sleep by slowing down your nervous system. They called it beauty sleep, but I’d say it’s also the mood lifting sleep, as it is well known that people that get enough sleep tend to be less anxious and more positive. As another plus, taking its aroma in can be beneficial during a cold or when suffering from headache.
The distinctive, sharp and slightly masculine notes of this fragrance is gained by a touch of vetivert (the essential oil of the vetiver plant). This distinctive and powerful essential oil is said to enhance your libido and help you relax. I particularly like this rich scent, and love the warmness it adds to the mix.
For extra relaxation and earth, cedarwood essential oil is soothing and acts as a sedative.
